Agile Minds Corporation, founded in 2020 by Mishal Karim brings together a diverse and dynamic group of companies under one banner, joined arms with Earth Identity Project and Thrive – NGOs which work to provide food and education to underprivileged children. They provided funds and gathered donors who contributed various relief items for flood victims.
All of the relief donations were collected and stored at Direct Fresh Limited warehouse (a concern of Agile Mind Corporation) on Thursday evening, 7 pm, and on Friday they were sorted and packed into individual bags to be distributed to flood victims. Rice, dal, Orsaline, water purifying tablets, biscuits, cheera, jaggery and milk powder were in each bag, and a total of 1000 were distributed to Comilla Zilla School. Moreover, around fifty/50 life jackets were also specially sourced and donated upon their request. Sadia Mustari Karim, Director of Agile Minds Corporation handed over the relief in Comilla. Agile Minds Corporation MD, Mishal Karim, personally donated 3000 packets which are ready to be distributed on Sunday. Each packet contains dry food, emergency aid and feminine products and clothes to be distributed to Feni Zilla camp.
They plan to continue the distribution of relief for as long as it is needed.
Agile Minds Corporation includes investments in food distribution for large organizations like UNDP, WFP and many more multinational and local conglomerates, along with investments in digital marketing, PR and branding, renewable energy space with cross-sectional interests in solar, wind and hydro power generation, dairy production, disinfectant factory, medical products, PPE import and distribution, big data as well as robotics engineering.
At least 15 people have been killed and 4.8 million affected by floods triggered by heavy rains in Bangladesh; as many as 887,629 families were trapped in floodwaters and 11 districts were affected by the floods (source: Md Kamrul Hasan, secretary of the Disaster Management Ministry). The affected districts are Feni, Comilla, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Brahmanbaria, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Khagrachhari, Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Habiganj.
It was published that so far 188,739 people had taken refuge in designated shelters, and the flood-affected areas had received a total allocation of Tk3.52 crore in cash, 20,150 tons of rice and 15,000 packets of dry food.
